ADDITIONAL COUNCILORS-AT-LARGE ELECTED TO THE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE TEXAS SECTION OF AIPG

Henry M. Wise, P.G., C.P.G., President of the AIPG Texas Section, announced today that in a move to widen the representation of AIPG in Texas, three additional Councilors-at-Large were just elected from a field of candidates during and confirmed after deliberations of the regular February AIPG Texas Section Board Teleconference. These are:
On another matter, President Wise announced that Glen Collier, P.G., C.P.G. is retiring from the Advisory Board and will be phasing out of his consulting company, Hydrex Environmental, Inc. Nacogdoches, Texas over the coming months. Henry Wise, Officers, and Advisory  Board Members thank Mr. Collier for his substantial contributions to the Texas Section of AIPG during the past few years, including his service in chairing theScholarship Committee (more), and for hosting the 2018 GeoDayz Training Program held in Nacogdoches, Texas. His steady advice and council were always well considered by the Officers and other members of the Board. His absence will be missed.

Wisconsin American Institute of Professional Geologists will be once again holding Geology Day at the Capitol in Spring 2019.   Geology companies and organizations will have display tables in the Rotunda on the 2nd floor show casing our many successful projects throughout Wisconsin. 
 
Until then, we wanted to let you know we appreciate the continued support of our legislators and provide you with the history of Professional Geologist licensing in our State.
 
Take a look at the successful legislation and activities you helped create!

Two of this year’s scholarship recipients and one of last year’s recipients were at the GSA Conference in Burlington, VT. Dennis McGrath with student scholarship winners - Brandon Keough is a student at SUNY Potsdam; Jalise Wright at Rutgers University – Newark, and Tshering Lma Sherpa at Union College.

  

Arizona State University (ASU) Geoscience Career Networking Event 
The event was attended by students, faculty and a variety of professionals that gave short presentations. AIPG National President, Doug Bartlett, gave a presentation on the role of professional organizations for professional growth and networking.

PRESIDENT WISE ANNOUNCES TWO NEW COUNCILORS-AT-LARGE
Henry M. Wise, P.G., C.P.G. announced today the appointment of Roger Lee, P.G., Ph.D., Austin, Texas and John L. Berry, P.G., C.P.G., Austin, Texas as Councilors-at-Large for the Texas Section of the AIPG.  Mr. Wise indicated that he was particularly pleased about the new Councilors joining the Officers and other Councilors-at-Large and Members-at-Large, and District Representatives of the AIPG Texas Section Board.  They will help us move forward into the future with new programs for the benefit of the members of the Texas Section of the AIPG.
