TPG Article Submittals
Instructions to Authors
The Professional Geologist (TPG) accepts articles of modest length for publication. Submittals should be no more than approximately 3200 words, or twelve typed pages, double spaced. Longer articles may be divided into parts (e.g. part 1 and part II), but this is not encouraged. Articles may be technical or professional in nature. Articles containing news of importance to professional geologists will also be considered. Except for news articles, or articles containing dated materials, submittals should be sent to AIPG headquarters twelve weeks in advance of expected publication.
Manuscripts should have the following section:
Author(s) with AIPG number and address
Tables if included
Figures with captions if included
Appendix(es) if included
Articles should be submitted electronically via e-mail to Dorothy Combs at firstname.lastname@example.org. Headquarters uses Word for Windows, which is preferred, but any translatable files are acceptable. A hard copy mailed with with disk or flash drive is also acceptable.
Graphics should also be submitted electronically via e-mail to Dorothy Combs at email@example.com in jpg, tiff, gif, ai, eps, psd or other standard format at 300 dpi. A hard copy mailed with a disk or flash drive is also acceptable. We can scan clean copy images or photos if necessary.
Send us your color pictures for the cover of TPG! They should have a geologic theme and an informational caption.
