AIPG Section Scholarship Programs
Student scholarships assist students with college education costs and to promote student participation in the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG). In addition to the AIPG National scholarship the following sections also offer scholarships.

- Georgia Southern University - in memory of Dr. Jim Henry, the winning student must have an interest in coastal processes
All scholarships are $500.00
All students are eligible and the chairman or faculty members of the department elect the student in December and the award is given in the following April or May.

Eligibility
-For any undergraduate student who is majoring in geology (or earth science)
-Who is at least a sophomore
-Attending a two-year or four-year accredited college or university in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
-Is an AIPG student member or must have applied for student membership at the time the application for scholarship is submitted
Eligible applicants must submit:
-The AIPG Pennsylvania Section Application
-A 600 to 800 word essay about your background and what inspired your interest in geology. Was it a person, a place seen while traveling, A TV show or movie background? What do you hope to do with your degree?
-One letter of recommendation from a geology/geoscience professor that provides emphasis on your performance and activities in the classroom, in the department, and your character in how you work and help other students.
-College transcript with GPA

Two scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship amount is $500.
Deadline to submit the application and necessary documentation is March 15.
