NHGS seeks information from organizations that have experience mapping bedrock geologic structure and lithology at a variety of scales; have expertise in connecting bedrock geologic data collection to groundwater management needs; have expertise in brittle fracture and joint trend identification and analysis; can contribute information regarding use of modern technology in the performance of geologic mapping; and can contribute information regarding the maximization of efficiency in conducting geologic mapping. We are seeking best practice solutions and recommendations regarding the conductance of bedrock geologic mapping that addresses these goals while advancing the practice of geologic mapping in New Hampshire. Responses to the RFI will assist with preparation of a Request for Bids to conduct bedrock geologic mapping in New Hampshire.</span></p><p style="color: #242424; background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="color: inherit; padding: 0px; font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-weight: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; border: 0px; line-height: inherit;">The RFI is posted here:&nbsp;<a data-auth="NotApplicable" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.das.nh.gov/purchasing/docs/bids/RFI%20DES%202025-01.pdf" data-linkindex="0" style="color: blue; padding: 0px; font-size: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-weight: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; border: 0px; line-height: inherit;">https://www.das.nh.gov/purchasing/docs/bids/RFI%20DES%202025-01.pdf</a></span></p><p style="color: #242424; background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="color: inherit; padding: 0px; font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-weight: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; border: 0px; line-height: inherit;">Responses will be accepted until 4 PM on August 16, 2024. This program is specifically designed to support K-8 educators who are new to teaching earth sciences and are seeking to enhance their teaching skills and knowledge in this vital field.</p><p style="color: #242424; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe UI Web (West European)', 'Segoe UI', -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; background-color: #ffffff;">The TLA will be held in Denver, Colorado, and features two tailored sessions: one for elementary educators teaching grades K-4 that will run from July 7-10, and another for middle school educators teaching grades 5-8 from July 10-13, 2024. These sessions will provide hands-on, interactive professional development opportunities in a supportive learning environment. Periodic webinars following the in-person sessions will provide ongoing support and networking throughout the next academic year.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br />Dr. Ed Robeck, AGI's Director of Education and Outreach, highlighted the academy's unique focus: "The Teaching and Learning Academy is a significant initiative aimed specifically at educators who started teaching earth science relatively recently. Responsible sampling is essential to protecting important geoheritage sites, being respectful of indigenous cultures, and in consideration of other societal issues.</p><p style="color: #201f1e; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe UI Web (West European)', 'Segoe UI', -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; background-color: #ffffff;">Students and professionals at all career stages are invited to take this 15- to 20-minute survey. All responses will be submitted anonymously. The results will be presented in aggregated form at the 2022 GSA Annual Meeting forum on Culture and Ethics of Geological Sampling at noon on October 10 and presented to GSA with recommendations for community-based guidelines for ethical and responsible geological sampling into the future.</p><p style="color: #201f1e; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe UI Web (West European)', 'Segoe UI', -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; background-color: #ffffff;">The survey can be accessed here:&nbsp;<a href="https://crm.americangeosciences.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=10296&amp;qid=10725450" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" data-auth="NotApplicable" data-safelink="true" data-linkindex="2" style="border: 0px; font: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/geologic-sampling</a>.
