Professional Member

Become a Professional Member in AIPG. Professional Members shall normally hold a baccalaureate or higher degree in a geological science but are not otherwise screened prior to acceptance.

Educational Requirements: Geologists who do not yet meet the education and experience requirements for CPG or do not see a need for certification by the institute may apply to become a Professional Member. Professional Members must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in the geological sciences with at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of geology/geological sciences.

Dues: First year prorated, $155 after first year.

Early Career Professional Member

If you have recently graduated, you will want to join or upgrade your membership from Student membership to an AIPG Early Career Professional Member. Our Early Career Professional Membership is applicable during the first five (5) years upon earning a baccalaureate, masters, or doctorate, but you are not otherwise screened prior to acceptance. After five years of membership as an Early Career Professional, you will be automatically upgraded to the Professional Member Membership. 

Educational Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in the geological sciences with at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of geology/geological sciences.

Dues: First calendar year free, $77.50 after first year.

Associate Member

Become an Associate Member of AIPG. Anyone interested in the profession of geology and the aims of the Institute but who is not qualified for another membership category may be an Associate Adjunct Member.

Dues: First year prorated, $80 after first year.

Student Member

Join AIPG as a Student Adjunct Member. Student Members shall be currently enrolled with majors in a geoscience program at a college, university, or similar institution.

Student memberships have 2-year increments.  After graduating you can move your membership up to Early Career Professional.  The first year of your Early Career Professional membership is free!
